The Origin of the Project
In 2022, the project was initiated with a clear and simple goal: to optimize energy self-consumption. It was observed that despite abundant electricity production from solar panels during the sunny season, the boiler remained active. It became clear that hybridizing hot water production was necessary to improve self-consumption while reducing gas dependency.

Current Problem
In Belgium, a large portion of electricity is still generated from fossil fuels such as natural gas, which emit significant amounts of CO₂. Each kilowatt-hour (kWh) of hot water consumed comes entirely or partially from fossil fuels. Reducing our dependence on these energy sources is now an urgent necessity.
